Patterns and Methods

We are one of the few foundries to have a fully equipped, onsite pattern shop. This enables us a significant degree of scope and versatility when it comes to the patterns we are able to produce as well as greater control over production and quality.

We have skilled and experienced pattern makers. Many of these have undergone comprehensive training as part of the Darwins’ Apprenticeship Scheme. They are specialists in making complex patterns manually from 2D drawings to the highest standards in wood, resin and GRP.

Methods

Our team have the capability of receiving 2D and 3D drawings and models through the latest version of solidworks. 3D models can be used to produce pattern equipment to the highest standards and tolerances using CNC machining. Patterns produced can be inspected and compared to the 3D model, the final components can also be checked to the 3D model if required.
